How can we help?

Does Folderit Have an API?

Yes. Folderit provides an Application Programming Interface (API) that allows organizations to connect Folderit with other business systems, applications, and automated processes.

The API documentation is available at api.folderit.com.

What Can the Folderit API Be Used For?

The Folderit API can be used to build integrations and automate document-management tasks such as:

  • creating and managing folders and files;
  • uploading, downloading, and updating documents;
  • working with metadata and document information;
  • managing workflow tasks and responding to workflow requests;
  • creating and managing eForm records and templates;
  • using reusable task presets;
  • retrieving audit-related activity and workflow events;
  • connecting Folderit with ERP, CRM, accounting, HR, procurement, and other business systems.

Workflow API

The API includes endpoints for creating, managing, retrieving, and responding to workflow tasks.

This can be used to connect Folderit workflows with external applications, create approval or signing tasks from another system, retrieve task status, and record workflow decisions.

eForms and Data API

Folderit also provides API endpoints for managing data items created through eForms and for managing the data types used as form templates.

This allows external systems to create, retrieve, update, and delete structured records while keeping them connected to Folderit’s document-management and workflow capabilities.

Task Presets and Audit Events

Task preset endpoints can be used to manage reusable task configurations.

Workflow-related audit events can include task creation, editing, deletion, approval, rejection, clarification requests and responses, delegation, and removal of delegation.

API Access

API access is available with Folderit Tailor plan.

Authentication details, endpoint descriptions, request parameters, and example responses are available in the Folderit API documentation.
