Custom permission

The ‘Custom’ permission (available in TAILOR plan only) allows for precise control over user or group access to resources. Beyond the standard permissions of Preview, View, Edit, and Upload-Only, this setting enables you to specifically tailor access permissions according to organizational needs.

This allows you full control so you can switch on the exact permissions the user should have, one by one. ‘Custom’ also allows you to choose if the access will be recursive / applying to sub-folders as well, or is only for the folder you are sharing.

  • No Permissions: Grants visibility to the specific folder shared, but none of its content. This is ideal for displaying the navigation hierarchy without revealing unauthorized sub-resources.
  • Create Folders: Allows users to create new folders within the shared folder. Although, without additional permissions, they cannot further interact with these new folders.
  • View Folders: Users can see the immediate sub-folders of the main shared folder.
  • Download Folders: Provides the capability to download the exact shared folder.
  • Edit Folders: Permits users to modify folder attributes including its name, metadata, workflows, retention, and views.
  • Move Folders: Users can relocate the folder to a different location.
  • Delete Folders: Grants the ability to remove the folder.
  • Duplicate Folders: Users can make a copy of the folder.
  • Share Folders: Allows users to grant folder access to others.
  • Public Link Sharing: Enables users to manage the public link settings for the folder. Note: Requires the “Share Folder” permission.
  • Audit Trails: Users can view the folder’s activity log.

  • Add Files: Users can upload or add files to the specified folder.
  • View File List: Grants visibility to the list of files in the folder. Without additional permissions, users only see file names without associated content or metadata.
  • Preview Files: Offers in-system preview of supported files, excluding download, print, or text-selection functionalities.
  • Download Files: Users can download files to their device.
  • Edit File Attributes: Allows modification of attributes like metadata, reminders, workflows, and check-out.
  • Update File Versions: Users can upload new versions of a file.
  • Online File Editing: Utilizing Office 365 integration, users can edit files. With “Add Files” enabled, users can also create new documents via the Office integration.
  • Move Files: Users can transfer files to other sections of the system, provided they have the necessary permissions.
  • Delete Files: Grants the ability to remove individual files.
  • Duplicate Files: Allows copying of files within the folder.
