Downloading All Your Files

It’s easy to download all your files and folders you have on Folderit as a nicely structured ZIP-file.

To download all your files/folders for a local backup, do as follows:
  1. Log in
  2. Click on your company name in the header to open the dropdown menu
  3. Choose ‘Manage Accounts’
  4. Click on the download button on the right side of your chosen account’s name
  5. Type your account’s password and click ‘Verify Password’

The system will start archiving your files and folders, preparing it to download. This may take some time. For very large accounts it is advisable to download the resources Section-by-Section or in other smaller chunks.

For accounts bigger than 4 GB please use Chrome, not Safari to download the streamed ZIP file, since Safari does not support ZIP64 that ir required for larger archive files.

For large accounts, download not the entire account at once but in smallere parts downloading individual folders. For those accounts it might make sense to download over API.

Windows Uncompress tool can struggle with large ZIP files. If that happens, we recommend using free alternatives like https://www.7-zip.org
