Folderit Embed Files for WordPress

Folderit WP Embed displays downloadable files from a Folderit folder on any WordPress page or post.

1. Install and connect

  1. Go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.
  2. Upload the Folderit WP Embed ZIP and activate it.
  3. Open Settings → Folderit Embed.
  4. Enter your Folderit Client ID and Client secret.
  5. Select Test connection.
  6. Choose your Folderit account and select Save connection.

2. Add a file list

Open the page or post where the files should appear and add the Folderit File List block.

Enter:

  • Folder UID: The 10-character UID of the Folderit folder.
  • Maximum files: The number of files to display.

Publish or update the page.

Alternatively, use this shortcode:

[folderit folder_uid="YOUR_FOLDER_UID" limit="20"]

Replace YOUR_FOLDER_UID with the folder’s UID.

Helpful notes

  • File listings are cached for faster page loading. You can adjust the cache duration under Settings → Folderit Embed.
  • Download links are generated when visitors click a file, ensuring they receive a fresh Folderit link.
  • Only embed folders containing files appropriate for everyone who can access the WordPress page.
  • When upgrading the plugin, upload the new ZIP and choose Replace current with uploaded. Your connection settings will be preserved.
